You wing your way from Johannesburg International Airport to Phalaborwa's " Gateway to Kruger '' airport, where your ranger is on hand to welcome you. Guests on the midday flight are transferred to Tremisana Game Lodge, where you will have a chance to unwind before High Tea at 15h30.

You then board the open Landcruiser for a four hour afternoon/ night drive. After a stunning sunset, your ranger will use a powerful spotlight to locate nocturnal animals. Dinners in our open boma under the African sky will be traditional African meals. Guests arriving on the evening flight will be transferred to Tremisana. After dinner, you enjoy a late-night spotlit game drive.

Day 2:

We travel to the Orpen Gate of Kruger Park where we board our open Gameviewer. The absence of windows and elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. You will have an amazing chance not only to view game but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. There will be regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. After a full day of game-viewing and bird-watching, we return to Tremisana for your flight home.

Tremisana is the largest and leading lodge in the Balule section of Kruger Park. There is a splash pool, open air boma for dinners around a crackling fire and a covered lapa overlooking a waterhole. A very beautiful luxuriant garden boasts numerous bougainvilleas, palms and cycads which give the camp a subtropical tone. The lodge is serviced by two excellent boreholes. Its proximity to the tar road means Tremisana is easily accessible all year round, including the rainy season. The presence of lions, elephants and buffalo necessitates the maintaining of an electric fence around the camp.

NOTE: For those guests who wish to see the spectacular scenery of the Blyde River Canyon, we can negotiate a fly one way / drive the other way safari.

"1. Esleen Cloete at Reservations is great. She was able to find creative solutions quickly to fit into my schedule ? she worked till very late in the evening to get everything sorted for me. Booking for the lodge and airline reservation (for my return flight) was perfect, price is reasonable and I did not have any issue. 2. Pear (I don?t have her last name, but she is the hostess) at the Tremisana Game Lodge is also great. She is very knowledgeable of the areas and good at care for customer needs. The lodge itself is good (for the price) and well managed. 3. The driver / guide (I don?t have his name) for the all day Kruger park tour is good ? he has very keen eyes and worked hard to try to get us see all the animals. 4. The drivers of the van from Joburg to Tremisana Game Lodge could do better: 4.1. The first driver (responsible to pick up people in Joburg and drive them to midway for lunch) forgot to pick up one of the passengers at the airport, we have to go back to someone to wait for that person. 4.2. The designated driver (responsible for driving the van from the lunch place to Tremisana Lodge as we were told by the first driver) somehow decided to sit at the seat next to me in the middle row, and let someone else drive the van to the destination."
