Amukela Game Lodge was built in 2004 by the Dutch owners Miriam & Corné van Dongen. Located in the Greater Kruger Park this unique lodge offers an african bush experience against affordable rates.

For South Africans and/or South African Residents: R445 pppn sharing and R495 pppn singles.

Non SA and/or SA residents:

Euro 52.50 pppn sharing and Euro 59,50- pppn singles.

Children -12 Euro 26,50.

Amukela is an exclusive lodge with 4 African style rondawels, each with their own theme.Each rondawel has a kingsize bed with mosquito net and overhead fan. The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, shower and a basin.On request we can put in an extra mattress for a child.In 2 of our rondawels the beds have 2 single mattresses.

Breakfast is served in the main building, where you also find the lounge. Here we have several books and magazines about Africa.

From the terrace as well as our swimming pool you have a view on the bush and our below: boma waterhole. Here you can relax, and watch the animals come and go all day. In the evening the waterhole is enlightened.

In the evening enjoy the dinner in our boma under the breathtaking stars.Sit around the campfire and listen to the voices of Africa

In the vicinity of Amukela are a lot of interesting places to visit both for a full day or just a couple of hours. This makes our lodge a great place to stay several days or even weeks. Whether you want to go on your own, or have an organized trip, we gladly assist where possible.

Greet a new day in the bush, together with an armed and qualified nature guide.Explore the fascinating nature in Africa by foot, in an easy going pace. Learn about animal tracks and behavior, trees and bushes with medicinal properties and much more.

Gamedrive.

In an open jeep you go out in the bush searching for the animals, accompanied by an experienced field guide. Conducted in the Balule Big-5 Private Nature Reserve.

The world-renowned Kruger Park is a must. Explore this wild and vast nature area in your own vehicle or as a guided tour. (full day trips on request, minimum of 2 persons). Visit the Elephants museum in Letaba, or go to Mopani camp, which is a very scenic drive. From Amukela to the Phalaborwa entrance is about 40 minutes drive.

In the Hoedspruit area are several wildlife rehabilitation centers; Cheetah Breeding Project here they breed with cheetah's, which are an endangered species.In an open safari-jeep you drive past the enclosures, the guide will give you information. About 1,5 hour.

Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre known from National Geographic Channel, this rehabilitation center has diverse birds of prey, lions, wild dogs, hyena's, cheetah's, a leopard and a honey badger.

Discover the beauties of the 3rd largest Canyon in the world, with several scenic views as well as 7 different falls. Also a boat trip on the Blyderiverdam is possible or viewing the game on horseback. There is a Reptile park and

possibility to make a ultra-light flight. There is a lot to explore in the lowveld!
