Barberton
The village of Barberton is located in the eastern part of the Mpumalanga province. Geologists love studying these rocks as they show evidence of the oldest life form in the entire planet. The bacteria found is called bacterial microfossil Archaeospheroides barbertonensis. It then formed into algea, the remains of which are called stromatolites. This makes Barberton hills the oldest in the entire world!
