missed opprtunity
Because we missed our connection in Istanbul, we had to stay in this city for 24 hours. Therefor we did miss our overnight in Blyde Canyon, which surely was a missed opportunity.

Blyde Canyon Resort
We had an absolute fabulous time at the resort and found the chalets more than adequate for the 4 of us. Beautiful location and private. Staff we encountered were very friendly, efficient and helpful at all times. We will definately come back to stay and have told all our friends. Minnie Liebenberg

Happy at Blyde
We had a very nice long weekend at Blyde River Canyon.The 6 sleeper accommodation was very comfortable for a family of 4 and we were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the peace with our young children. Would recommend this to others and we will definitely like to return again.

Resort with a view
Our accommodation was simple yet effective. Our stay was comfortable. There is a lot for the kids to do. We especially enjoyed the playground where we could participate as a family on the equipment. (Nice sturdy merry-go-rounds, rocking horses, swings etc.) Most of the resort has beautiful scenery and spectacular views. Blyde Canyon Resort is close to many other viewing sights as well as tourist attractions and is my choice to stay in when traveling in that region. Don't forget to stop for pancakes at Harrie's in Graskop and check out the lovely curio store next door.

Blyde River Resort
We received a warm welcome at Reception. The self-catering chalet we stayed in was nicely decorated and basically well equipped.

Blyde Canyon Rating
We had a lovely stay. Only problem we had in our suite was the shower head was not working too well. It sprayed water all over.
The food at the restaurant on the Thursday night was excellent but Friday's evening meal was not nice at all. The staff at the Restaurant were excellent.
But overall we enjoyed our stay and we will return to Blyde Canyon again

My Stay at Blyde Canyon Resort

One night visit
Wonderful facilities and overall great experience.

Some points:
1) our bin was 3/4 full in the kitchen (an oversight - not a biggie)
2) the tiles in the pool caused 3 out of 4 of us to have cuts on our feet - you have a problem there.
3) you may consider putting spring closers on the chalet kitchen doors - we got caught by the baboons (despite your warnings I know)

Clean, beautiful
The chalets were clean, spacious and well stocked with kitchen equipment and linnen.

The resort itself is beautifully layed out, have breathtaking views of the canyon, and very nice hiking trails.

I would recommend Blyde Canyon Resort for a nice breakaway resting destination, as well as a hub for exploring the region with all its natural beauty.

Well appointed, but get rid of the snakes
We were pleasantly surprised at the newly renovated unit we occupied. Everything was well thought out and it felt new and comfortable. Disappointingly, although we had reported the kettle out-of-order the first morning of our stay at the Reception - it was never replaced. We boiled water for coffee on the stove! Something which upset me greatly was the huge snake (not sure whether a python?) Management keep in a window as you enter Reception which is being fed on little white rabbits. I looked at them the first time I saw them, and first thought they weren't real but then I saw the terror in their eyes. Too terrible. I had a discussion with Terry at Reception and he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. I'm 50 - I wouldn't like to know how upsetting it is for children. Please keep these reptiles in a Reptile Park were people who like these things find it acceptable - not at a holiday resort! Not to mention another two snakes they keep in glass fish tanks around the corner.

Blyde Canyon Forever Resort.
Chalet very well equipped, very neat and clean. Resort very well maintained and offers beatiful scenery and within close proximity of most tourist attractions in the area. Staff found to be very friendly and helpful. Restaurant unfortunately only offers buffet menu and food found to be very average. A la carte menu to be added as a recommendation.

Very Comfortable
Our stay in Blyde resort was very comfortable.

first and for all, a thank you to Donna for her roadside assistance and previous communication.

Some info for management:
The chalet (N°46)was spacious and had all the necessary utensils; sadly no view;
A leaking toilet needed to be taken care of and after a day of traveling that wasn't so practical;
The last night a few noisy neighbors had to be dealt with and the security was no-nonsense, very swift and professional. Screening possible guests might be something to look into.

The restaurant served a very good buffet and the presentation was as good as the food! The ambiance did it all justice.

Overall a positive experience and to be recommended

Invaders
The overall stay was very good. Facilities were clean and well maintained . The only issue is with the Baboons. A way needs to be found to keep them at bay . I know this is difficult , but this could be very dangerous. Thank you

Prompt & Professional
Firstly booking through you was but a pleasure. Donna was prompt, professional as well as friendly and helpful.

The reception at Blyde River Canyon was superb, after a long drive, the friendly service immediately made us felt better and at home.

The shop assistants were also very friendly and helpful, love the little jokes the young lady had up her sleeve all the time.

Accommodation was clean and neat, cleaning staff were very friendly.

SO ALL IN ALL OUR STAY WAS LOVELY. WE HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL.
ALREADY RECOMMENDED YOU AND BLYDE RIVER CANYON RESORT TO FRIENDS!!!

Blyde Canyon Resort
Fantastic Scenic Resort. Welcoming at Reception and first impression above average. Resort very clean and everyone very friendly. Walking trails clearly marked and safety of visitors are highly important to resort management. Only frustration was the shop on the resort. No exceptional service and could not find what we needed to ease our stay in the camping area.

Review Blyde Canyon
The setting is absolutely amazing. The chalets are spacious and clean. But - although there were very few people staying there over the weekend that we were there, we were placed right next to a chalet that was being renovated and we were woken up 7am on Saturday by the noise of the workers. They also worked on the Sunday, which we found quite intrusive. Apart from that the resort in general is to be recommended.

Pleasant stay
We enjoyed our stay at Blyde Canyon Resort. We rented a cabin for our family of five. Accommodations were reasonable. Had a little problem getting hot water from the shower. There is a room heater but in only one of the two bedrooms. Be careful with the baboons, they tried opening our door even though we were inside the place. We used this place as a base to visit the area, Kruger is 120 kms away.

Blyde / Loskop /Gariep
I have stayed at three of you resorts Blyde /Loskopdam/Gariep and found aal the staff above average the sites clean and neat not withstanding that we wher the only cravan in the park.

Mother Nature at it's best
We had a wonderful stay at the resort, my wife particularly enjoyed the horse riding up to the view point. This was our first visit to the Lowveld and the resort is quite close to most of the tourist attractions. The weather was not all that good, but we still enjoyed the scenery. This must certainly be amongst the most beautiful places in South Africa if not the world!!!!!!

Adventure
It was okay except that some major activities are done only at Swadini and sometime is too late to drive back.I wish we can be allowed to spend a night at Swadini to enjoy the activities and adventures there not being worried about time and travelling back to Blady on same booking.

Enjoy stay but....
We did enjoy our stay in the park a lot. There is just a problem with all the baboons - I think must start to shoot some of them - if you doso the rest will move by themselves.

If you can warm up the swimming pool (use sun power) with 2-3 degrees - it will be very nice - the pool is too cold to enjoy - after a days travel in the area one would like to cool down in the pool - that will definitife upgrade the parks value!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blyde Canyon resort... the staff was friendly and the place is close to awesome awesome viewing points like the Three Rondavels, God''s Window and the potholes.
