Karongwe Game Reserve
Karongwe Game Reserve is a 21 000 acre wildlife paradise near Tzaneen in Limpopo, which is straddled between 4 rivers and is situated about 45 minutes from the Kruger Park. There are 6 great lodges in Karongwe, male lions at Karongwe have that regal Kalahari black mane.
Karongwe Game Reserve is teeming with game, birdlife and diverse dense vegetation which provides the perfect habitat for leopards. The specially trained game rangers and trackers will take you on safari drives in comfortable open 4X4 landcruisers. Most of the rangers and trackers are Shangaan and bring vast experience and knowledge. They have a natural tracking abilities, the rangers will insure that you get up close and personal with the big 7, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, cheetah and African wild dog.
On one game drive we stopped an arms-length away from a leopard taking a nap after a kill, we also stopped in the middle of the lions den taking time to observe king of the jungle watching over his pride.
