The house, Tanglewood, is situated in Marloth Park. Marloth is a unique holiday resort where there are no fences. Impala, zebra, warthog, giraffe, etc can wander freely through the bush. When travelling from Johannesburg, it is approx 20km from Hectorspruit and 20km before Kamatipoort. It is about 9km from the Crocodile Gate Entrance to Kruger National Park where you can spend a day game-viewing and be home again for an evening braai. It is only 18km to the Labombo Border Post and then another 85km to Maputo, where prawns are plentiful!
Tanglewood is situated on the corner of Seeikoei and Swartwitpensweg, stand no 2844. It is a spacious double-story, thatch home with an open plan, fully equipped kitchen with microwave and gas stove that leads into a lounge and dining room with an 8 seater table. There are also two large bedrooms, one with a double bed and bathroom ensuite that has a bath and handshower. The other bedroom has 2 single beds and there is another bathroom with shower for use by guests. Upstairs on the landing, is another bedroom with a double bed. It is an open plan bedroom with a balustrade.
There is a screen for privacy. They would use the downstairs guest bathroom. There is also another large lounge upstairs. Here there are 3 good fold up mattresses suitable for children. North facing from this lounge is the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River and a lovely wooden deck where one can sit and watch a stunning bush sunset. South facing from this upstairs lounge, is another wooden deck looking over the bushveld of Marloth Park.
Below this deck is a shaded outdoor eating area with a wooden table. Leading off this area behind the house , is a braai area, small splash pool and an outdoor shower. A few metres across Seekoeiweg, is a dirt road that follows the Crocodile River - ideal for walking and viewing the elephant + buffalo that frequent the river during the dry months. Cycling is another novel way of viewing the animals in Marloth. Tanglewood is totally self-catering, but there are facilities for eating out in Marloth Park.
Tanglewood is rustic accommodation. It is situated in the bush, there are no manicured lawns or laid out gardens here, but is a great place For Nature lovers, birders and for those who love to walk.
