Mopani Rest Camp Reviews

Suberb Spot
Definitely our favorite place in the KNP. Unreal accommodation, lovely staff and great game viewing. Loved it!

Extremely disappointed
There were no pots other than 2 cast iron pots of 4 liters & 3 liters respectively. There was nothing that could be used in the microwave. there were no knives for preparing food other than a bread knife. There was no dish washing liquid. The banister rail on the steps was broken and one of our party uses a walking stick and nearly fell when it came away. This is not acceptable in an upper bracket guest cottage. It spoiled our holiday.

MOPANI STAY
We had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and our cottage was clean when we got back from our daily game drive. Overall we had no problems and enjoyed our stay at Mopani.

Superb Spot
Of the four camps that we stayed in this had to be the best. Very clean, well maintained accommodation and the entire camp is really excellent. Animal and birdlife were abundant and the sunset drive with our very knowledgeable and friendly guide Paul was a real highlight Highly recommended

Mopani
The Mopani camp has got a wonderful environment and great opportunities. The staff I dealt with were all very friendly. I still rate the camp itself as terrible as the overall feeling you're getting from it is NEGLECT. The pool was dirty and unattended, the chalet itself wasn't clean and the amount of big insects, shongololos etc I met inside my accommodation were too many.

Honeymoon
I was pleasently surprized to see all the dams full and rivers flowing. There was never a dull moment with the abundance of game. There was allot of bird life around the dam at Mopani which was entertaining. Overall a great camp and friendly staff.

Mopani Camp, Kruger National Parks
The camp is okay, however, the unit we stayed in was in need of some TLC. The unit needed to be painted, with some of the cutlery not being in the unit as it should be (e.g. no can opener, not sufficient teaspoons, etc). In future, we would rather stay in camps situated in the South of the park.

Mopani
The camp was very good, only issue is bring your own food into the camp, as choice is limited. The camp restaurant for a meal in the evening was no up to alot, food was not very hot but staff very helpful, but we enjoyed the stay.

Unsatisfactory
Thanks for asking but unfortunately we need to complain about the service we received at the restaurant the Saturday evening. The food was something like hospital food which is of poor quality and very unsatisfactory. About half of the menu was not available to order and after all the frustrations the manager pitched up and come and asked us if they could go and buy it at the shop because the restaurant did not have it. What kind of manager ask from a customer what they should do. In my books it is only a incompetent kind of manager who cannot make decisions to satisfy customers and meet their expectations. Something which is really sad, you pay a lot of money for something you did not enjoy at all. I must add the accommodation was fine and nice we did enjoy it.

From there we went to Satara camp and ordered some lunch and had a great experience. The food was nice and everything else. Mopani camp can definitely learn from them.

Peace of mind
Peace of mind is what comes to mind when i think and talk about my stay at Mopani. i was booked in a guest house with four friends, the fact that there is/was no TV set in the house is what made my stay more enjoyable. the camp is awesomely beautiful, i felt like i could/should stay for a month or even. My stay at Mopani was filled with a lot of inner peace and peace of mind. The staff at the camp is very professional, helpful and well informed. i enjoy and loved every minute of my stay at Mopani Rest camp. Big ups!

Feedback on Kruger
Was hoping that there would be a watering hole on the game drive, in order to see more animals. That would have been great.

Mopani camp bungalow 17
I always enjoy Kruger. However this bungalow : the roof was leaking during rain, toilet leaking constant, cold water tap in bathroom has a problem. Please ensure the accomodation gets up to standard. People who visit the Park expect more value for money than this.
Regards.
