Olifants is situated above the Olifants river, offering excellent views of the river below. There is a lookout point in the restaurant allowing guests to sight wildlife while relaxing. Guests visiting Olifants rest camp will enjoy a unique African experience. The camp has a welcoming feel and guests will definitely come back for more.

Olifants Rest Camp Bungalows
Olifants has more than a hundred bungalows. 2 bed, 3 bed or 4 bed bungalows, equipped with toilets, most with showers, but some with baths, all units with AC. Some bungalows have kitchenettes while others have communal kitchens. Some are situated on the perimeter edge with wonderful views of the Olifants River below. One bungalow is wheelchair friendly.
Olifants Rest Camp Guest Houses
Both guest houses Nshawu and Lebombo have eight beds and are located in an exclusive postion with a wonderful view of the Olifants river. Fully equipped, with 4 two-bed bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, dining room, several lookout decks and a TV.
Activities at Olifants Rest Camp include morning, sunset and night drives and walks, Bush Breakfast and Barbecue. Olifants River Back Pack Trail starts from Olifants Camp and stretches over 4 days and 3 nights covering approximately 42 km.
Mountain Bike Trails, is very similar to the guided bush walks. There is place for a maximum of 6 participants per trail. 2 Qualified and armed field guides will lead the trails. The camp will supply the mountain bikes. Backpacks, water bottles, bicycle helmets and snacks will also be provided. A full bush interpretation will be done on the trail.
Astronomy drive
Astronomy, presentations of the southern hemisphere skies and African star lore, followed by night sky viewing through a large telescope, are combined with sunset and a night game drive from Olifants Rest Camp to a remote site on the river bank where the telescope is set up. Astronomy drive activity is now open for bookings as from 02 June 2007 at Olifants camp again, the new introductory price is R215.00 per person including children. Please remember that the activity is weather driven so if it is cloudy or raining the activity will not go out.
