We stayed for 3 nights in Punda Maria without any problems - staff and accomodation Good
BUT on our 1 night at Mopani our room was broken into and an expensive Sony video camera was stolen, whilst we were eating (only approx 1 hr 15 mins away from room) At the same time 2 other units were robbed, the Police were brought in and arrested a man that was working for a thatching contractor. The workmen appear to have un-restricted access to all the camp - discussing this with South Africans we were told there are generally problems when work is been done on neigbouring units.
We feel these workmen should be off the camp when they have finished work, if one were staying in a hotel we would not put up with workmen wandering around outside working hours - staying at a Kruger Camp is not a cheap nights stay, so visitors should be assured of good security.
We then moved to Olifants for 3 nights without any problems.
Food - very limited and boring memu, now provided by a catering contractor
I would recommend a stay in Kruger, but keep your valuables at home or lock them in the car boot.
