Sited 44 km north of Satara, nestled on the banks of the Timbavati River, the secluded Roodewal Bush Lodge can be found.
Lush riverine vegetation, like Natal Mahogany and Jackalberry trees, paint a picture of peace & tranquility from the barbecue area, simply to be crowned by the brilliance of the stars at night.
The distinctive quality of this camp is owing to the tremendous privacy of each exclusive sleeping unit, making it ideal for social gatherings. Not only is the entire camp occupied by the group making the booking, but the units are spread out to tender privacy to each guest / family inhabiting that unit.
Another exceptional attribute is the private viewing deck, erected on stilts that surveys the beautiful Timbavati River which offers outstanding sightseeing and game viewing.
Accommodation & Lodging at Roodewal Bush Lodge consists of:
There is a family cottage with 2 bedrooms, the master bedroom is en-suite, two bathrooms, one with a bath, the other with a shower, as well as 3 bungalows each with three beds, fitted with lofts able to sleep 2 people. Fully equipped communal kitchen with gas stove and oven, a fridge and freezer.
Roodewal Bush Lodge is administered from Olifants Rest camp and can accommodate 19 persons at a time, the entire camp must be reserved en bloc, and no day visitors are permitted inside the camp, you will have to pay for all the accommodation units available, if you want to stay there.
The name Roodewal is taken from the scenically beautiful long dolerite dyke found in this region of the Park, the ridge of which at times suggests a great wall built of massive stone blocks and overgrown with aloes, seringas and euphorias.
