Arathusa Safari Lodge Reviews

The lodge and surroundings are beautiful and luxury, the food is excellent and the 2 game drives a day very informative and adventurous in open jeeps. the rangers are very knowledgable. The spa facilities are gorgeous. However, I do have 2 complaints: check out is very stressful, you have the feeling they want you out on the day of departure as soon as possible. at 7.30 when you return from your morning game drive, you'll find the linen changed, beds made etc. for the new guest, whereas check out is until 10:30. I cancelled my spa appointments for that morning because the cleaning ladies started circling my lodge like vultures-not relaxed at all. also my mum was refused a safari walk, because her english wasn't good enough-in case we would get charged by a lion or rhino-she wouldn't understand the commands! Please how difficult can it be?, you either stand still or run for the nearest tree. in the end we got to do the walk with an afrikaans speaking ranger-thanks to the intervention of manager Ashley
