Earth Lodge

Sculpted deep in to the earth and almost invisible in the landscape. Here, you are at one with the wilderness. A corridor leads you down, on a journey beneath the ground, to an experience unique and unforgettable.

Your entrance brings you to an uninterrupted bushveld panorama. A sense of peace consumes you. You are cocooned in luxury, inspiration and grace. There are twelve suites only, in addition to the Amber Suite. Each is attended by a Private Butler and is appointed with specially commissioned furnishings, a secluded plunge pool and open air shower. The natural sculptures of Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful magic. The Amber Suite is generous beyond belief in its dimensions and boasts its own exercise room, steam room, study and kitchen. It captures art and luxury in one unique experience.

The boma, its walls sculpted from roots and built up piece by piece, captures the drama of an African night and embraces the power of the wilderness.

You can renew yourself in this place. The Earth Nature Spa and exercise centre. Massages, natural therapies or a classic spa. A secluded library. Art gallery. Meditation garden. Everything has been created for your indulgence.

Dining in a subterranean cellar will be a celebration you are not likely to forget.

Your own armed and knowledgeable Game Ranger and Shangaan Tracker will take you deep into the bushveld by open land rover or on foot. Close enough to share in a thrilling encounter with Africa's beautiful wild creatures.

Our commitment to the Earth

Wilderness is vital to mankind. For in the wilderness we strengthen our bonds with the Earth and find peace with ourselves. So many of the answers we are searching for lie hidden in these places.

But the wilderness is disappearing at an alarming rate. It is up to us to provide a sanctuary for our flora and fauna - not only for our children, but for their children too - in a manner that creates employment, earns foreign currency and contributes to the growth of the country through the development of eco-tourism.

The below rates include open Land Rover safaris by day and at night to see Africa's big game, accompanied by qualified rangers and Shangaan trackers, environmental awareness walking safaris, breakfast, lunch and "boma" dinner, local alcohol and beverages. Our tariff includes government taxes (VAT) and tourism levy.

Special

Something special is happening deep in the heart of the wilderness.

Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, the world's quintessential game reserve, has created a rare and richly textured passage from the Bushveld's past to its future.

Guests will spend two days in the old world romance of the legendary Selati Camp and a further two days at Earth Lodge - a state-of-the-art spiritual retreat.

Nothing has been spared to leave guests with a truly unforgettable experience. Along with Sabi Sabi's world-class service and breathtaking safaris, guests will receive a suede-peaked Sabi Sabi cap and a complimentary spa treatment at Earth Lodge. Although staying at two of Sabi Sabi's most exclusive lodges, guests will still only check-in and out once, with all their luggage transferred timeously.

Wedding

"As a seasoned traveller, my wife and I are constantly looking for something different and unique. Earth Lodge separates itself from the rest with its own unique style and facilities, but what makes it one the best lodges I have ever stayed in was the outstanding service from the lodge manager Hugo all the way down to the room cleaning staff. At the staff participate in making your stay memorable. The rooms blend into the landscape and are stylish and spacious, with large well equipped bathrooms. They are protected by a wall, ideal for perfect privacy with a private plunge pool and outdoor shower. I had to try both, even though it is winter, and could not persuade my wife to join me. From the room it?s possible to see elephants, bush buck and the resident hippos. The room service is excellent and the food is exceptional considering that you are in the bush. Thanks to our excellent rangers, Richard and Goodman - we were able to see several different lion prides leopards on two occasions and cheetah, plus many more animals. If you are looking to see the big five then this is the place. The tracking vehicles are washed daily, and are well equipped with blankets and hot water bottles for the cold morning drives. Drinks are also served during the drives. This elegant resort is completely different and unique to all the other lodges in the Sabi sand, the staff are warm and the service was excellent, making it worth every cent spent. "
