Hillwatering Country House is located just 4 hours from Johannesburg International Airport. A popular destination for travelers, the Country House is the gateway for international tourists waiting to discover South Africa.
Charming accommodations await guests at Hillwatering Country House. We have 5 large bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. The rooms have queen beds or twin beds and four of them lead to the veranda via the French doors. Relax and feel the refreshing mountain air and see the fantastic scenery of the mountains and forested slopes and the 70 meter high Bridal Veil Falls. The verandas overlook the gardens and you can see local birdlife attracted to the wide variety of plants and flowers.
We serve English and Continental breakfasts on the verandas during summer or by the log fire for those chilly days. We also serve 2-3 course meals for dinner by arrangement and a picnic breakfast for your early trip to the world-famous Kruger National Park.
Additional services and facilities at Hillwatering Country House include secure parking and smoke free rooms (smoking is permitted outside on the verandah). Tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers are also available on request.
Attractions around Hillwatering Country House abound. The charming forestry town of Sabie is located on the Mpumalanga Drakensberg escarpment. From Sabie you can traverse the famed Panorama route where you can see popular spots such as Mac Mac Falls, The Pinnacle, God’s Window, Berlin and Lisbon Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the famous Blyde River Canyon where you can see the three Rondavels. You can wrap up your day with a visit to the historical gold mining town of Pilgrims Rest.
Other attractions are the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Sudwala caves, Kaapsehoop and Nelspruit where you can see the Lowveld Botanical Gardens and the Long Tom Pass. Horse riding, mountain bike rides, abseiling, bridge swings, river rafting, helicopter flights, micro lights and hot air balloons are also available. For those wishing to remain on the ground, you can try golf, walking trails, silk farms, swimming or just a leisurely walk around the local curio shops.
