Weekend in Satara
The Satara-rest-camp is central, is a nice place to stay. We can see a lot os animals and I was lucky to see the big five in just 2 days in the park.

Best camp to view game.
Accommodation too expensive considering the small bungalo. Was however spotlessly clean. Food quality not aligned with price. Next year will be my last visit as it has become too expensive.

Satara Visit
Our stay in Satara Restcamp was very nice but there were a few problems. We arrived a day later than the booking was made for. We arrived at Orpen gate in time to make it to Satara but because of our arrival a day later someone cancelled our booking in Satara so it took 2 Hours to sort out the problem at Orpen gate. By the time we sorted it out we were to late to drive to Satara and had to stay at Maroela, which was a very good camp to stay over night. Further Satara Camp had no problems exept the inconvenience of the ATM being out of order. The night drive was a great pleasure to be on. The braais in Satara camp are not of the same good standard of those we came across in Maroela.

Excellent!
We had another wonderful time at Satara. Thanks alot!
The only problem that can frustrate people is drains starting to block in bungalows. We did mentioned this to the supervisor walking around while the ladies made the beds etc. Other then that: NO PROBLEMS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

What an amazing experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at Satara Camp. Everything needed was available. The staff was friendly and helpfull. We would like out next stay in the Kruger National Park to be in the Satara Camp but for a longer period so you will definately hear from us again. Thanks for everything. I only would have liked our bungalow to have utensils. Lucky I have a picknic basket that I brought with.

Mr
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality of all the staff members especially those that cleaned the bungalow.
The only disappointment was dinner in the restaurant. We selected the buffet without seeing the menu and was very disaapointed with the quality of the food and the very high price charged. The standard was not anything that the Park can be proud ofand is the one blemmish during our visit.
We were however very impressed with the Park Shop.

Unique experience
The accommodation was different to say the least, with an 'al fresco' kitchen! We only stayed one night and enjoyed hearing the wild animals safely fenced outside the camp. Only downside was the restaurant. There was only one menu choice, a carvery, unless you wanted burgers from the snack menu. The food was overpriced and also overcooked. As you're not allowed out of the gates, there's no alternative, unless you plan ahead and take food for the braai.

Satara
I spent a few days in Punda Maria in December and read there would be no utensils. However there was crockery cutlery and a kettle. When I read the same about Satara I at least thought it would have the same items. Iwas therefore surprised by the difference and only one plug! You need to distinguish between what ,no utensils, mean as i had to spend unnecessary money on a kettle (I had fortunately brought along a little gas stove). Apart from this the stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

Although the Krugerpark has had lots of rain it was still a wonderfull experience to be there. The quite and peace are really great. The camp was very neat and tidy and the service atreception and in the shop was definitely above average. Overall I was seriously impressed

Satara Bungalows
Many toilets were blocked and surrounding areas smelling bad. Toilets were very small and not user-friendly. Each bungalow should have its own kitchen and utensils.

Still one of best camps ever! The only thing we missed was no bread toasters at Satara and Shingwedzi. We even saw two male lions that caught a buffalo near Nwanedzi! A Tierboskat posed for us to take photos!

Wonderful camp
Satara is a great camp!
The game is plentiful in the area and its a great place to see cats and nocturnal animals like genets and civets etc.

Watch out for the resident owls and the bushbabies that often visit the reception area.

Me and mother nature
My stay at Satara was awesome, i enjoyed every single moment of my stay. my stay at Satara gave me a lot of inner peace and peace of mind. I must say though that i was a bit disappointed that the swimming pool was out of order. I did a lot of driving but every single minute of the drive was worth it. The staff at the camp is very professional and they make one feel special...

Needs improvements
We stayed in three different camps on our trip and this was the least favorite camp. The bungalow was fine, but the grounds were not nearly as nice as the other two places we stayed. There was no green grass, it was mostly dirt or dried plants. The worst part of the stay was our night drive when the vehicle got a flat tire at 10pm about 5 minutes from the camp. The driver had no radio or cell phone and we had to wait until he figured out how to change the tire. He actually made us get out and stand in the road (in the dark) so he could jack up the vehicle. This was just after we'd seen a leopard close by. I did not feel threatened with harm, but I did feel it was totally unacceptable that the driver would be out at night without any means of communicating with the camp. What if we had crashed? It seemed to me that he could have called for another vehicle to come pick us up instead of us waiting in the dark all that time. This situation put a damper on our visit there for us. When I tried to talk to the camp manager about it, they seemed to have no concern. On the other hand, we thoroughly enjoyed our stays at Lower Sabie and Oliphants.

Fun in the Bos
We had an excellent stay in Satara Rest Camp. We camped for 4 days and enjoyed the other friendly campers. There was a lot of animals close to Satara rest camp and we got woken up by Hyena noises a few nights. It is unfortunate that the night rides are so expensive as we would have liked to go on one. The staff at reception were very friendly and the restaurant's food was excellent.
Thank you for a memorable stay.

Satara
We were extremely lucky and managed to see the Big 5 in ~ 15 hours of driving, despite being told by people that the grass would be too long in Feb. It was all very green after the rains.
The one minus was the accommodation - a big problem I've found with Africa is that money is not held back to pay for repairs as they are needed eg potholes and Kruger accommodation. The windows were warped and didn't close properly. The mosquito netting had multiple breaks in it, which made the whole experience uncomfortable as you knew you might be invaded while you slept.
The booking process was very easy and the staff were helpful too.

Good base to stay
Satara camp is centrally located and a very good base to travel from. Our accommodation was good, basic but as you'd expect. Be aware of the local monkeys that are able to get into your fridge - ours was raided once! Monkey-proof fridge & bins would be a good a idea. Ensure you shop for food items before you enter the park as the shop had very limited supplies, even less if you are a vegetarian!!
Enjoyed every minute of our 4-night stay, saw lots of animals and didn't want to leave!

Thank you for the wonderful experience, the park is in the best condition I have seen for years. You have outperformed your private lodging counterparts in hospitality. Well Done.
Good Luck with the anti poaching work, we know it is one of the more challenging issues in the park.
