


The southern region of the Kruger National Parks is bordered by the Sabie River in the north and the Crocodile River in the South. Mozambique in the East, the Lebombo form a rugged ridge of rhyolite around Pretoriuskop in the west. The highest point in the Kruger Park is at Khandzalive in the south west corner near Berg-en-dal Camp, rising to 839 m. The granite produces the rounded hills of Napi , Shabeni and Shirimantanga which punctuate the southern region.
The southern region of the Kruger National Parks is best to see White rhino which occur in large numbers near, Mbyamiti River and lower Sabie. Its also good for elephant and lions which are common. Between Lower Sabi and Skukuza its recognised as one of the best places to view game in the park, nicknamed lion drive. During peak holiday season the main routes in southern Kruger National Park can become crowded with traffic.
