Ironically named for the Tsonga word meaning “lots of water”, Talamati rest camp lies spread out alongside a section of the N’waswitsontso River, a predominantly dried up water source. Secluded, private and quiet, the camp is part of the Kruger National Park’s push towards more numerous, smaller luxury camp facilities. Owing to its premium positioning in an open valley area, Talamati rest camp provides ideal game viewing for guests (and predators) looking for unobservant grazers. As with other camps of similar design, Talamati serves as a satellite camp to the larger nearby facilities, and thus has full use of their amenities.

Accommodation at Talamati is provided in two-bedroom guest cottages, complete with bedroom ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms with showers, toilets, and washbasins, and kitchens with gas stoves and refrigerators. Cottages are comprised of one-bedroom units with ceiling fan, open verandas and a kitchen / dining room with a gas stove and refrigerator.

Adventure activities at Talamati take the form of guided bush walks and game drives, conducted and supervised well trained, highly informative professional field guides. With the area’s sloping valley and hills lying under knob thorn and bushwillow trees, Talamati is also home to various stork species, including Narina Trogon. Guests are requested to note that children younger than the age of six are not allowed to accompany them on game drives, and children younger than twelve will be restricted from game walks. Camp facilities incorporate a mini supply shop, electricity points for appliances, communal boma (braai, barbecue area), a bird hide, and individual bomas per accommodation unit.

Guests can engage in some exciting rhino, elephant or lion tracking on foot, while other animals in the area include giraffe, kudu, eland, impala, zebra, rhino, buffalo, lion and hyena, and can all be spotted, tracked and observed while on outings in the area.
