Motswari Private Game Reserve

Inside Timbavati Nature Reserve lies Motswari Private Game Reserve. Part of the Greater Kruger National Park conservancy and traversing close on 200 square km of pristine habitat, Motswari offers visitors the best of Africa; wide horizons, untamed wilderness and is plentiful with game.. Motswari which means "To conserve and protect" prides itself on offering guests a unique bush experience.

The Lodge facilities include a traditional, open-air boma; a spacious lounge and bar over-looking a beautiful dam; an art gallery exhibiting original wildlife art, a fully-equipped conference room and a refreshing swimming pool. The Lodge has 15 luxury en suite bungalows. All bedrooms have magnificent bush and river views from the bedrooms.

Motswari is well equipped to cater for conference and incentive groups. Our fully equipped, air-conditioned conference room comfortably can accommodate 30 delegates. The area is renowned for its frequent sightings of the famed Big 5 and has healthy populations of all other species found in the region. Game-drives are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon, when the animals are most active and the scenery at its most spectacular.

Timbavati is renowned for its predator populations, supporting one of the highest densities of lion in Africa. Painted Wolves and Cheetah are also often seen in the area. Elephant and Cape Buffalo are common in the area, frequently occurring in large breeding herds several hundred strong. There are also healthy populations of all the antelope species of the region.

Elephant Back Safaris

This dreamlike adventure offers magical moments as well as the opportunity to come in close contact with wildlife. Meet Jabulani, the elephant that was rescued as a baby, and the twelve trained elephants that were brought down from Zimbabwe together with their grooms, as the invasion of farms by war veterans had placed their future in jeopardy. The love and respect shown these elephants are obvious - and this affection is returned. The elephants seem to enjoy the ride as much as you will! Your elephant back safari of approximately an hour and twenty minutes will also include a talk about elephant behavior beforehand and refreshments afterwards.
