Umhlametsi Game Reserve
Umhlametsi Game Reserve is situated on the western boundary of the world's second largest park, the Kruger National Park, with impressive views of the Drakensberg Mountains and the awesome Blyde River Canyon. Umhlametsi means “1 days water” is a place where time stops. Two non-perennial rivers majestically meander through the area which attracts a diverse variety of birds and wildlife, including Lion, White Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard and Cheetah.
Umhlametsi Game Reserve comprises of four exclusive camps, each with its own open vehicle for game drives and a ranger to guide guests in search of 4 of the “Big five”.
At Umhlametsi Game Reserve you are encouraged to experience a African bush walk where you will be amazed by the intricate wonders. Umhlametsi is a great location for wildlife, birding, hiking, touring and golfing, close to the Orpen and Phalaborwa Gates of the Kruger Park and the majestic Drakensberg. See the cheetah Breeding Project, Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, White Lions as well as a trip to a local Shangaan Village.
